Modern communication is an essential skill. Skills in micro-learning, video production/editing and using pictures to tell stories are skills needed today.

A key skill is creative thinking. Too many people associate creativity with the arts when, in fact, it is the ability to do something with your imagination.

On the 24th of February, UZCARD conducted a workshop with WIUT students on the topic "Achieving Goals"🔥

The session started with a brief explanation of what is "Happiness Corporation", and why UZCARD is positioning itself in this interesting way. Representatives of the company shared information about internship opportunities they provide for our students.

Afterwards, speakers highlighted the importance of setting clear and realistic goals by using “SMART” and “Goals-values” methods👏

🤩On 22nd of February, WIUT Career Development Centre organized a guest lecture with the Deputy director of Monetary Policy department of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan (CBU)- Eldor Zakirov.

The focus of the guest lecture "Monetary Policy and its instruments" was closely related to the topics of the Faculty of Finance and Economics with Finance. Students had an opportunity to strengthen their knowledge in the existing monetary policies around the world and got information about the current policy strategy of Uzbekistan. At the end, guests from CBU discussed future plans of the bank and answered to the most fascinating questions.

🤩On the 21st of February, Career Development Centre organized one of the most high ranking guest lectures with Boston Consulting Group (BCG)!

💥During the event students and graduates of WIUT had a unique opportunity to learn more about BCG and its activities, closer discover the consultancy in international company and discuss internship and job opportunities available in BCG. At the end of the event, participants became acquainted with the Managing Director and Partner of the company - Igor Alekseev, who personally answered to the most important questions.

BCG team recommended to students not to just focus on the knowledge, but also strive to develop their soft skills.

Our next guest of ⚡️Azamatbek Lutfullaev - an ambitious graduate of WIUT who got position in one of the "Big 4" firms EY with an assistance of the Career Development Center (CDC).

As he shares:

Last autumn I was preparing for exams and was looking for positions in some companies. In November CDC made an announcement about dinner with EY Partners.

Without a hesitation, I sent to CDC my CV and marks. A week later I received HR phone call and was invited to dinner. Later, after few steps and an interview I got contract.

To say the truth, EY is interested in development of hard as well as soft skills of its employees. The company provides free access to learning platforms and conducts trainings every week.

At the same time, if an employee struggles with any task during a project, he or she can easily appoint a meeting with project senior/manager to discuss the issue.

For those who are just starting their career, I would recommend the following:
- Always work on yourself. Nowadays, we live in a very competitive environment. In order to get advantage, student must constantly enhance their skills.

- Join professional networks, communicate. I would strongly recommend them to open and actively use professional networks.

- Do not give up. It is ok to fail at some moments of life and certainly be rejected. The thing is you must not give up.
