SAI welcomes to International scientific and practical conference “Sustainable development of the value chain in agricultural and forestry sectors”

INFORMATION LETTER
May 24-25, 2018, Samarkand
Samarkand Agricultural Institute jointly with Kangwon National University and Research and development institute of forestry of Uzbekistan is organizing an international scientific and practical conference entitled as “Sustainable development of the value chain in agricultural and forestry sectors.”
The purpose of the conference is to develop the value chains in the agricultural and forestry sectors in Uzbekistan through exchanging experiences with universities and industries from developed countries and offer recommendations for rural development.
The tasks of the conference are:
• Exchange experiences, knowledge and skills from countries such as South Korea, Europe and Central Asia in developing value chains in agricultural and forestry sectors;
• Discussions on capacity building of staff in educational programs related to agriculture and forestry sectors across countries;
• Studying experiences of European countries and South Korea in rural economic development;
• Studying opportunities of applying the best practices of South Korea and other developed countries in the educational process of the agricultural higher education system in Uzbekistan;
• Studying opportunities for applying experiences of higher education and research institutions of developed countries in the adoption of innovations in agricultural and forestry sectors in the case of Uzbekistan.
We welcome contributions on topics such as:
- Problems of adoption of innovations in agriculture education;
- Problems of improving agricultural production and processing;
- Problems of finding new niche markets for agricultural products;
- Issues related to quality management and certification;
- Curriculum Development in Agriculture and Forestry related programs;
- Problems of sustainable development in the agricultural sector.

Submission Guidelines.
The types of submissions for the conference can be accepted as a research paper or a poster.
Submitting a paper: The paper submission (Title, abstract, main text, figures, graphs, tables, references, etc.) must be in Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx) format. The maximum length of the paper is 5 pages (including title page and all figures, graphs, tables, appendices, and references). Use Times New Roman 14-point font, single spaced, 2 cm margin all
around, and A4 page setting. The number of authors should not exceed three persons. Initials of authors should be written with their occupation/position and institution. A full paper should include an abstract (100-120 word in italic font), keywords (three to six words) and the main content consisting of: Introduction; Materials and methods; Results and Discussions; Conclusion; References. Authors can use www.elsevier.com/locate/still as guidelines for formatting the papers. Formatted full papers should be sent to the following email address: [email protected] untill May 5, 2018. Submitting a Poster: If you are presenting your work via a poster, it is your responsibility to produce the poster and bring it with you to the conference. A poster should be self‐contained and self‐explanatory, allowing the viewer to proceed on his/her own while the author (you) is free to supplement or discuss particular points raised by the viewer. Presentations should be simple and clear and a combination of text and graphics is recommended. Poster Layout: An introduction should be placed at the upper left and a conclusion at the lower right. The abstract does not need to be presented. Illustrations: Figures should be designed to be viewed from a distance and should use clear, visible graphics and large type. Each figure or table should have a heading of one or two lines. Photographs should have good contrast, sharp focus and, if necessary, an indication of scale. Titles and captions should be short and easy to read. Remember to caption your poster with the abstract title, author’s names and affiliations. Poster sections are organized in two sections: for the teachers and professors, researchers (in A0 format) and for students (in A1 format).
