Namangan State University offers various courses of study, including 24 bachelors educational programs, 7 masters specialization programs, and 9 programs for aspirants. Namangan State University was established according to decree №356 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on February 28, 1999 and Statement of the Cabinet of Ministers, as the successor to Namangan State Pedagogical Institute. The Institution was founded in 1942 as a branch of Andijan Teachers Training Institute, and in 1944 renamed as Namangan Teachers Training Institute, in 1955 turned into Namangan State Pedagogical Institute. At the start of its foundation the Institute contained three faculties: The Faculty of Uzbek Language and Literature, The Faculty of Russian Language, and The Faculty of Physics and Mathematics. Nowadays 5680 students for bachelors degree and 168 students for masters degree are enrolled in the University. To educate this huge number of students 461 experienced teachers are employed, including 16 doctors and professor, and 144 educators awarded with scientific degrees in different levels. So the scientific potential of the University is 30,6 % as above mentioned. At present the Higher Educational Institution consists of 9 faculties subdivided into 32 chairs:

5. The faculty of Law
6. The faculty of Pedadogy
7. The faculty of Physical Training and Physical Culture
8. The faculty of History
9. The faculty of special correspondence
In the University Library, 12 departmental and faculty libraries 481884 volumes are available for loan, of which at the end of 1991, 327906 books were in circular. In 2008 the stock of the University library increased by 203978 volumes, 12 reading rooms of the main library with total shelving 479 meters in length 7 rows each were used by 27000 people. Bearing in mind the fundamental changes caused by systems of information technology, the University gives special attention to intelligent distributed systems. In this way a contribution is being made to research endeavors which focus on an increased degree of integration of computer and software systems, interface networks and terminals in very diverse areas. In order to keep pace with changing at the start of the new millennium the University is increasing the amount of internet available computers. The Information Technology department provides a wide range of services for the citizens of the University campus and is responsible for the relations with the Institutions abroad and at home. Throughout Uzbekistan all university locations have service facilities and departments that provide sport programs for students and staff. By looking on sport as a recognized and necessary counterpart to the burden of study and work, the University sport attempts to implement all the positive benefits of general and recreational sport. «Talaba» university sport club obtains 4 gyms (sport halls), 1 summer sport ground and all necessary equipments. Recently restored and up-to-dated «Yoshlik» prophylactic boarding house performs special medical care for 60 patients at the same time with a certain discount. The regional language teaching centre, vocational training business school, 2 academic lyceums and qualification advancing centre receive a wide support from Namangan State University. The University is expressly committed to the constitutional principle of freedom of research and teaching. The University regards central funding as the best means of realizing this constitutional principle. The University therefore sees itself as justified in seeking from the state the guarantee of adequate resources. The University pledges itself to develop its students as responsible critically aware and ethically conscious human beings, to acknowledge and promote the independent achievements of researchers and students, to respect different religions, to serve the development of knowledge and to behave responsible with new ideas and models, to initiate and support national efforts to fulfill social and humanitarian goals, to treat equally people of different sexual identity, religious, social and ethnic background, and to integrate those with handicaps, to promote ecological awareness and to guarantee of disciplines and subjects as well as to meet the requirements of the second stage of specialists training national program.
