🇦🇷 Optional Tour: Buenos Aires
Day 1 took us deep into the heart of the city with a downtown walking tour. We started at the historic Plaza de Mayo, the city’s main square since colonial times and a powerful site of both celebration and protest. From there, we walked along the iconic Avenida de Mayo, discovering its stunning architecture and hidden stories. Along the way, we explored Argentina’s most glorious—and most challenging—periods, and learned about influential figures like Eva Perón and Pope Francis.
We finished our tour at the impressive Argentina National Congress.
Day 2 brought us to the modern waterfront of Puerto Madero—a unique neighborhood built on the Río de la Plata, where every street is named after a woman. We also visited the Casa Rosada Museum, where we explored Argentina’s presidential history, its symbols, and fascinating curiosities.

We could be the first Uruguayan-American style murga in history! This trip to the Carnival Museum, combined with classes on People and Culture of the Río de la Plata, Spanish Composition, and Advanced Spanish, was truly special. We immersed ourselves in Murga a combination of music, theater, and dance (all at once), one of the main rhythms of carnival. We even gave our first stage performance, showcasing everything we learned!
