Looking for some fun on the farm this fall? Michigan Farmstead, home of the Critter Barn, is offering hands-on classes for kids of all ages:

👩🏽‍🌾🐥 Little Farmers (Ages 3–5)
Little hands meet little critters! Kids will feed cows, goats, sheep, and chickens while learning about the many products that come from a farm. This class is designed for a child to attend with an adult.

🐮🥛 From Moo to You (Ages 3–5)
Meet our dairy goats and cow, learn how animals make milk, help feed and care for them, and even try your hand at milking! The class wraps up with a sweet reward as families work together to make a homemade treat.

🔎🕵️‍♀️ Farm Detectives (Ages 6–8 & 9–12)
Put your detective skills to work! Students become junior detectives as they explore the farm, investigate clues, and solve engaging “mysteries” along the way.

💤🐷 Goodnight Barn (Ages 6–8 & 9–12)
Help us turn off the lights as we finish caring for the animals and say “Goodnight!” As the sun goes down, we’ll use flashlights to check on our animals and explore the barn. Then, we’ll quietly watch them settle in for the night… shhhhh! 🤫

What a night! 🤠

It’s hard to believe Derby Night was already a few weeks ago!

We’re so grateful to David Jeffries from New Listing Media for creating this beautiful video that captures the heart, energy, and fun of the night.

Derby Night is our annual fundraising event, but it’s also an opportunity to celebrate everything happening at Michigan Farmstead. This year, we share updates on programs like Ag in the Classroom, Farm Academy, 4-H, FFA, and Farm Crew, along with programming numbers, financial updates, and a look at what’s ahead.

Most of all, it’s a chance to pause and celebrate the incredible growth, opportunities, and hands-on experiences happening on our farm—and the people who make it all possible.

Take a look back at Derby Night through his lens! 🎥
