ZPS: Learning For Life

Did you know that asparagus can grow quickly, sometimes several inches in just 24 hours, which means it often needs to be harvested by hand every single day?

That kind of fresh, behind-the-scenes work is a good reminder of the care that goes into feeding our community. Our ZPS Nutrition Services team has been hard at work this summer, helping make sure students continue to be supported even when school isn't in session.

Attention Homeschool Families: Add something EXTRA to your child’s learning!

Zeeland Public Schools offers elementary specials for homeschool students who would like to participate in select classes at their neighborhood school.

Students can explore hands-on learning in STEM, Media Maker, Physical Education, Music, and Art while learning alongside peers and enjoying the resources of Zeeland Public Schools.

This opportunity is designed for homeschool families who are not currently enrolled full-time at ZPS.

Our students went on an unforgettable adventure to Peru!

From the streets of Cuzco and the ruins of Pisac to artisan workshops, mountain weaving demonstrations, the Mara Salt Ponds, and the breathtaking wonder of Machu Picchu, this trip was packed with once-in-a-lifetime learning.

We are so proud of our students as they explore a new culture and represent Zeeland!

Once a Creekside spelling bee champ, now a spelling bee coordinator, pronouncer, and fifth grade teacher in Los Angeles! Check out our alumni spotlight on Jami Gezon!

Jami studied elementary education at Taylor University and has completed eight full years teaching at the same small school where she student-taught. She’s been REALLY busy giving kids in LA the same experiences she had in Zeeland, including after school sports, camping trips, and holiday celebrations!

Her advice to today’s students: say yes, get involved, try new things, and thank the teachers and coaches who help you grow.

More than 500 area children are being supported this summer through Meet Up and Eat Up!

With 198 families signed up, our incredible ZPS Nutrition Services team is preparing and distributing 7-day meal boxes each week for families in our community.

Superintendent Rodney Hetherton recently stopped by to see the work in action and thank Director of Nutritional Services Sarah Stone and her hardworking team.

Efficient, thoughtful, and deeply community-centered: this is ZPS living out safe, valued, loved, and learning beyond the school year.

ZQuest middle schoolers made memories on the East Coast!
