Unified week is here! We had a unified game at Jenison, we made signs in our Advisory classes to cheer on our athletes for the game on Thursday, we signed inclusion banners, and even took a few selfies!

We are excited for our 9th annual Unified Week, Special Olympics Michigan! The work that was started through our zLinks program at the HS campus more than 11 years ago, has shown the power of unified sports as these opportunities have worked their way down to our two middle schools and to each of our elementary schools in some capacity (in progress!). From going viral a few years ago when Jules Hoogland hit her shot during the unified game, to the daily work of showing up for those around us, we are committed to making sure that we continue to show how the power of inclusive sports and leadership opportunities, along whole school engagement, can pave the way for authentic and meaningful relationships for all students on our campus!

Attention! Attention! The zLINKS program is selling Inclusion Week t-shirts to all staff, students, and interested community members to help promote acceptance, participation, and inclusion across our district! From February 23–26, Zeeland Public Schools will celebrate our first district-wide Inclusion Week, by hosting a variety of events and activities that highlight the importance of inclusion and belonging for every student.
