Fall Picture Day for high school students will be Wednesday, Sept. 2 beginning at 8 a.m.

Seniors, be sure to get your picture taken at school to hold your spot in the yearbook. The professional senior portrait you submit will replace it, but the school picture will ensure you are in the lineup.

Also, Mideast and Buffalo students: Make sure to get your picture taken at your campus as well so you are in the lineup on the career center pages.

It's Back to School Eve and we are looking forward to welcoming our Tornadoes back for the 2026-27 school year!

Wednesday, Aug. 26 will be the first day of school for students in grades 1 to 12, and kindergarten students with the last name beginning with the letter A through L. Thursday, Aug. 27 will be the first day of school for kindergarten students with the last name beginning with the letter M through Z.

West Muskingum students will be back to school on Wednesday, Aug. 26. It's important to remind everyone of the school bus stop law, which helps protect the safety of our students.

The greatest risk to a child isn't riding a school bus - it's getting on and off the bus. Ohio law requires that all drivers must stop when a school bus is dropping off or picking up children. It is illegal to pass a school bus in every single state when its stop sign arm is extended and lights are flashing. The flashing lights mean that children are getting on or off the bus.

Let's all do our part to ensure the safety of our children. Please stop for school buses and help make this a safe school year!

Due to flooding and traffic issues around Lakewood Local Schools, tonight's varsity football game has been postponed to tomorrow.

Bus routes for the 2026-27 school year have been posted on the Transportation website. Due to the volume of bus stops, not all locations will be listed.

ATTENTION FAMILIES OF BUS 11 - Due to the bridge closure on Coopermill Rd., please be ready 30 minutes prior to the posted times. We expect this bridge closure to last until the middle of September and possibly longer. We are aware of the issues this causes with day to day activities. Families will be notified of any route changes as we receive more information. We appreciate everyone's patience.
