Our 4th graders have been working hard, and have had so much fun celebrating all they’ve learned!

🎈Students celebrated wrapping up their place value unit with fun activities that put their math skills to work during our Place Value Party!

⚡ Our students also became Systems Engineers as they built, tested, and explained their own systems while showing what they’ve learned about energy and energy conversions!

We love finding ways to make learning memorable! 💙💚🦅

🏀💚🩵 What an awesome turnout for our ZLA Basketball Parent & Student Meeting last night!

We are so excited to begin this new journey and officially welcome basketball as the FIRST sport at ZLA! 🦅🏀 This is such an exciting milestone for our school, our students, and our ZLA families, and we can’t wait to see what this first season brings!

🪨🔬 Rockin’ through science at ZLA!

Our 8th grade science students transformed into rocks and traveled through the rock cycle by playing the Rock Cycle Game! From igneous to sedimentary to metamorphic, students had a hands-on way to see how rocks change over time.

We are excited to get our library up and running, and we would love for our ZLA families to be part of building it! Through our Build Our ZLA Library promotion, families can purchase a book (or two or three!) in honor of their student.

What a special way to help grow our library while leaving a little piece of your family at ZLA for years to come! **Please make sure you use the "this is a gift option" and include the information on who the book is being purchased for (ZLA student's name) and by whom.

💚🩵 Happy Custodial Appreciation Day! 🩵💚

Today we’re celebrating the amazing custodians who take such great care of both of our ZLA campuses! From keeping our classrooms and hallways clean to always being willing to lend a helping hand, they do so much behind the scenes to make ZLA a safe, welcoming, and beautiful place for our students and staff. ZLA wouldn’t be the same without them!

Mrs. Albarez’s second grade music classes did an amazing job performing “Three Little Birds” using American Sign Language! 🤟

We are so proud of the hard work and dedication our students put into learning this special performance. What a beautiful reminder to keep going, learn from our mistakes, and not let our worries get in the way.
