Today, we hosted our AG 1 Ice Cream Social, and it was a huge success! We loved bringing our AG 1 students together for an afternoon of fellowship, fun, and sweet treats. 🍦

Students had the opportunity to meet our chapter officers, learn some fun facts about them, and get to know other students in AG 1. It was great to see new friendships being formed and connections being made as we begin an exciting year together.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make our first AG 1 event so special. We are looking forward to a fantastic year filled with learning, leadership, and opportunities in agriculture!

Zachary FFA has been named a Premier Chapter National Finalist in the Building Communities Division!

Out of chapters from across the nation, Zachary FFA is one of only 10 finalists selected to advance and compete at the national level!

We are incredibly proud of our students and look forward to representing Louisiana and our Zachary community on the national stage!

This past weekend, our officers attended our annual retreat where we built leadership skills, strengthened our team, completed a community service project, toured local farms, and planned for an exciting year ahead. We can't wait for our members and community to see what we have in store!
A huge thank you to Cockeyed Farms for the tour of their elderberry and blueberry operation and letting us taste their elderberry syrup and creamed blueberry and elderberry honey that went perfect with our biscuits; Mauthe’s Dairy Farm for an amazing dairy tour and delicious cheesecake, and Shawn Sagrera of Sagrera Farm for providing the incredible beef for our hamburger dinner.
We are grateful for the support of these outstanding local agricultural businesses and the opportunities they provided for our officers to learn and grow. 💙💛

Fun Friday was our last day at camp, and it was totally epic. We went old school with Hungry Hungry Hippos and got messy with colorful slime (sorry, parents). We had a water station with different water games, played pool noodle sock pull, and played a games on the football field. Thanks to the parents for letting us hang out with your tiny humans this week. Thank you, campers, for a great week! We're already stoked for next year's camp!

Day 4 was totally food-tastic! Today we went full-on science nerds over Food Science. We whipped up some butter, crafted pumpkin pie in a teeny cup, popped our own popcorn kernels, taste-tested apples like pros and tried to be apple connoisseurs, and built solar ovens that cooked our snacks to perfection. We wrapped up our garden harvest and gave those chickens 🐓 a big ol' squeeze. We also enjoyed celebrating our campers Molly’s birthday today! Tomorrow's gonna be Fun Friday and we're super psyched for the shenanigans that are coming our way!

🌱🌱Day 3 of kids camp was ridiculously awesome! Today was plant science day, so our campers rocked their favorite flower power shirts or wore their favorite color. We created seed bombs with wildfire seeds, made dirt babies that we can’t wait to watch grow, talked about the plant life cycles, became plant scientist learning about cuttings, propagated spider plants like pros, and made necklaces with a living something. Of course, we gave our animals some serious love and snagged some fresh picks from the garden. We're hyped to see our campers tomorrow for Food Science Thursday it’s going to be lit!

Day 2️⃣ was Wildlife day and we totally lost our cool, it was a wild good time. We crafted snakey beads, created some bird feeders out of cookie cutters, played a game of predator versus prey where we had an absolute blast, mastered the ancient art of campfire-making and then ate an edible campfire, went on scavenger hunts and made our names out of plant material, and somehow even managed to shoot arrows like pros with Ms. Kaya's awesome archery lessons, huge thanks to her for bringing all the gear and teaching us all things archery. We can’t wait for tomorrow!

☀️ The first day of AG Kids Camp was udderly amazing! Our campers went wild dressing up as animals and didn't monkey around! Today, they got down to business learning about animal science - we're talking cow digestive tracts finger-painted with glee, suturing like pros, and making bracelets about animal needs. They even learned how to make a dairy cow and milked it for all it's worth, literally! And let's not forget feeding and snuggling all the animals, plus harvesting veggies like champs. Can't wait for wildlife day tomorrow! 🐻🐻
