REMINDER:

Yuma Union High School District schools will be closed to the public on Monday, September 21, 2026 for a district-wide professional development day. The district office will remain open during normal business hours.

ALL students will attend class virtually from home using the Canvas Learning Management System.

Students need to submit their attendance by clicking on the E-Learning button located on the homepage of their teacher’s Canvas page. Students will only need to click the E-Learning button once.

Classes will resume as regularly scheduled on Tuesday, September 22.

Vista students appreciate Mr. Smith because he is always smiling and takes the time to talk with students and get to know them. Mr. Smith treats students with respect, encourages them to succeed, and is always willing to help with school events. Students describe his teaching style as supportive, positive, and motivating. Students say: “Ms. Kerekes is amazing! Even if you do not talk to her often, she is always willing to help. Her kind, respectful, and positive attitude makes students feel comfortable and at ease.
She is incredibly supportive and motivates students—even when they do not feel like completing their work. She always makes time for them, often leaving her office to follow up and make sure they have everything they need. Ms. Kerekes may be soft-spoken, but her encouragement makes a powerful difference in the lives of her students.”

Students at Vista appreciate Nurse Hannah because she always makes them feel welcomed, supported, and cared for. Ms. Hannah is incredibly kind, caring, and welcoming. She always has a smile on her face and creates a positive environment where students feel comfortable and supported. She genuinely cares about our well-being and takes the time to check in with us, especially when we are not feeling well. Ms. Hannah consistently goes above and beyond to make sure students feel valued, cared for, and safe. We truly appreciate everything she does for us! 🐺💜

Our students want to recognize Ms. Goodwin for making math meaningful, enjoyable, and welcoming for everyone!
Ms. Goodwin creates a warm and welcoming classroom where new students instantly feel included. She makes math fun—which is not always easy to do—and explains concepts clearly while providing helpful strategies that make learning easier. She motivates her students and ensures that each person feels valued and appreciated. Ms. Goodwin is patient, understanding, and has a wonderful sense of humor. She connects with students by matching their energy and meeting them where they are, both emotionally and academically.
