Yuma Vault Academy

Congrats, Jayce!

Otis senior Jayce Ballah learned to fly while competing in the pole vault and has been off the ground ever since.

Many of you know Brandon. He was a four time state placing pole vaulter from 2013-16. He has the Yuma school record of 14-11, which was briefly the state record and went on to clear 16' 1.75" at Mines. He has taken his passion to mountaineering and unfortunately had a terrible fall. Any support would be appreciated...

Hi!
Coach Jack here. I thoroughly enjoyed working with all the fine young athletes that attended our 2026 pole vault camp. Once again, the campers were very focused, inquisitive and eager to learn which makes coaching a joy! Parents should be very proud of their kids! I’m already looking forward to next season!

I always do a bit of analysis of the group when it is all finished. Here are some fun facts!

*20 communities and three states represented at our camp…

Akron, Bethune, Burlington, Chappell, Eckley, Grant, Haxtun, Holyoke, Idalia, Julesburg, Kirk, Lodgepole, McCook, Otis, Parks, Sedgwick, Sterling, Tribune, Wray, Yuma

*16 current or future high schools represented at our camp…

Akron, Bethune, Burlington, Creek Valley, Dundy County-Stratton, Greeley County, Holyoke, Idalia, Lone Star, McCook, Otis, Perkins County, Sedgwick County, St. Francis, Wray, Yuma

*Over sixty 4th-12th grade participants, one of our highest totals, even with quite a few kids that wanted to attend but couldn’t attend due to extenuating circumstances…
4th grade – 2
5th grade – 3
6th grade – 4
7th grade – 9
8th grade – 16
9th grade – 11
10th grade – 6
11th grade – 8
12th grade – 3

*9 attendees were State qualifiers in 2026, 6 state placers, including a state champion, 2nd place and 3rd place individuals. I can’t wait to see the numbers next year!

It is such a privilege to work with all these amazing young athletes, thanks for entrusting your children to us for a couple of days!
