Here it is, how to tune your piano, starts with the Temperament Octave. This diagram shows the sequence in which to tune this octave, you tune it to thirds and sixths, starting with A440, which is usually key number 49, after you get your Temperament Octave set, the rest of the strings are tuned to the octave below, and or above, always check the octaves, they will tell you if something is out. The unison sting is always tuned to a muted sound to the string next to it. And don’t forget to always set the pins when tuning. That’s piano tuning 101!
Oh, yes, you need about $250 worth of special tools and possibly a high end tuner to get it done right.

Amazing Steinway piano!

I did not have the honor of tuning this piano, but I was honored and blessed to see and hear Andria Fennig play it at Alan Tomasetti’s flute recital. It was amazing watching and listening to both of them matching note for note and taking us through an amazing journey of music. Thank you soo much Andria and Alan!❤️❤️❤️🎹🪈🎼

Repairing broken hammers in a hundred plus years old piano. Still plays!

Quite often I tune a piano, usually the short string spinet pianos, and the bass strings will buzz. The strings are in tune but they buzz. The quick fix for that buzz is to put a little glue on the top of the bass string where the windings met the core of the string, it doesn’t have to be much, just a little dab, and then no more buzz. You have to be careful to not be sloppy and use too much, it will change the tone of the string/s.
Play on!
