Goodbye hot chocolate and fraps

For the past 2 years our school Culinary Arts class has been selling frappachinos and hot chocolate to the mass majority of students here at Gila Ridge. If you haven’t noticed yet, this year they are not selling them. Why? Well a lot of students at our school are getting free lunch due to money issues in family or other specific reasons. If those students are bringing money to buy hot cocoa or fraps, then why aren’t they buying school lunch? So basically the cafeteria is losing money and that doesn’t make the people of the cafeteria happy. It’s a tragedy to not be allowed to enjoy a hot drink in the cold morning especially when outside drinks are permitted. Goodbye hot cocoa and frappachinos, you will be missed.

Obama Reelected?
November 5, 2008 was the day our country elected an African American as president. The real reason behind this election was because we all thought “Hey it would be cool to have a black president for once.” Yea it was cool for the first 2 weeks, and then our economy dropped. Mr. Obama has no good experience in political power and should not be reelected this year. Obama himself knows that he most likely wouldn’t be elected so now he is trying to regain the people’s votes. By doing that he is trying to make the wrong people happy. He needs to make the right people happy; he needs to stop screwing around taking credit for other people’s ideas. Just because he is bringing the troops back doesn’t mean we are safe and that life will be easier. He hasn’t showed any love for this country! If you noticed during his speech broadcasted around the world on the incident in Japan, there was no American flag behind him like there has been during the other presidential speeches by the other presidents. Also on the presidential private jet there has always been an American flag painted on the back of it, he got it removed. So ask yourself, do you really want someone who shows no love for our country to be reelected?

Freshmen get Netbooks?

This year the Yuma School district is starting a new program for freshman. Each freshman receives a $282 netbook to use in classes for notes and other educational programs. The districts reasoning for the new netbooks is so it makes life easier by not having the freshman carry heavy textbooks everyday and to prepare them for college. Now why don’t the other classes receive these netbooks? Many upper classman are complaining about this situation. The school district now has seen the unfairness in this and is deciding that hopefully next year all classes will have netbooks. So cross your fingers sophomores and juniors! Next year we might get netbooks!
