THREE MORE DAYS! With the start of school so close, it's time - we must talk about the Kiss-n-Go.
We know you're stressed out by the Kiss-n-Go line. We understand the line gets long and it can take a few minutes of waiting to get in and out of the Kiss-n-Go. Remember, our ultimate goal is that all 550+ elementary and middle school students get dropped off and picked up SAFELY. And our systems allow that to happen if we all follow the procedures. It typically takes about ten to twelve minutes after dismissal for ALL students to safely get where they need to be. That's not bad at all!
Here's what we need from you to make it happen...
~Use the drop-off/pick-up lanes in front of the elementary or the middle school OR park your car across the street from the school. Your child can use the crosswalk to safely walk to and from your vehicle. ππΆββοΈπΆββοΈ
~Pull all the way forward in the pick-up lines. Do not stop near the back because it's closer to a door. When a car in front of you moves, keep moving forward so cars behind you can get into the lane. πππ
~Please DO NOT look for alternate areas to park. The staff parking lot and the north loop are NOT SAFE drop-off and pick-up areas. These areas are not to be used for drop-off and pick-up.π§
~Watch carefully at the crosswalk. The crossing guard will hold the stop sign high and stand in the middle for students to cross. When the sign is up, you MUST STOP. ππ
~ONLY CROSS AT THE CROSSWALK. If you're parking across the street and walking over to pick up your child, you must use the crosswalk. Crossing outside the crosswalk is unsafe, it slows the process for everyone else, and it sets a terrible example for our students. π€¦ββοΈ
~Traffic on Elm Street must keep moving unless stopped by the crossing guard at the crosswalk. Do not block intersections or stop in the middle of the street waiting for room in a pick-up line. If the line is full, circle the block and come back, and you'll find room.π
~Expect that it may take a few minutes. Again, your child(ren)'s safety is our priority. Please stay off your phones, stay alert, and stay calm. π
We are grateful for your cooperation and for your patience! Let's keep everyone safe coming to and leaving school each day!
See you soon, MES!
