Adult Literacy Plus of Southwest Arizona (ALPS) is seeking a highly organized, bilingual professional to join our team as a Full-Time Administrative Assistant (40 hours per week).

This is a key position within our organization and serves as the first point of contact for students, community members, partners, and visitors. We are looking for someone who enjoys helping others, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in keeping an office running efficiently.

📋 Responsibilities Include:
✅ Greeting visitors and assisting students
✅ Answering phones and responding to inquiries
✅ Scheduling appointments and maintaining records
✅ Preparing reports and correspondence
✅ Coordinating travel, meetings, and special events
✅ Managing data entry and office operations
✅ Supporting staff, volunteers, and community partners
✅ Assisting with financial and administrative processes

Qualifications

✔ Bilingual in English and Spanish (Required)

✔ High School Diploma or GED required

✔ College coursework or Associate Degree preferred

✔ Minimum 1–2 years of office experience

✔ Strong customer service and communication skills

✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Workspace

✔ Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain confidentiality

✔ Must be willing to work two evening shifts per week and assist with building closing procedures, including alarm system activation

✔ Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required within three weeks of employment

📚 NOW HIRING: Adult Basic Education (ABE) Hybrid Independent Study Instructor 📚

Adult Literacy Plus of Southwest Arizona (ALPS) is seeking an energetic, organized, and student-centered educator to join our team as an Adult Basic Education (ABE) Hybrid Independent Study Instructor.

This position provides a unique opportunity to help adult learners achieve their educational goals while offering flexibility to students whose work schedules, family obligations, transportation challenges, or other life circumstances make traditional classroom attendance difficult.

Position Responsibilities

✅ Provide instruction and academic support in:
• Mathematics
• Reading and Language Arts
• Social Studies
• Science
• Civics

✅ Teach MAT 100 face-to-face twice per week

✅ Serve approximately 20–30 Hybrid Independent Study students

✅ Meet with students at least once per week for required instructional sessions, either in small groups or one-on-one

✅ Monitor student progress, attendance, and academic performance

✅ Ensure students complete required progress testing and achieve measurable skill gains

✅ Work collaboratively with the ABE instructional team to maximize program performance measures, student outcomes, and High School Equivalency success rates

Schedule

📅 Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

⏰ 8 hours per day

📍 Yuma, Arizona

Minimum Qualifications

✔ Bachelor's Degree (Required)

✔ Teaching experience preferred, but not required

✔ Ability to obtain an Arizona Adult Education Teaching Certificate within three (3) months of hire

✔ Ability to obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card within thirty (30) days of hire

✔ Strong technology, communication, and organizational skills

✔ Passion for helping adult learners succeed
