Saghey Barcenas walked into the Foundation office a few years ago with a list of questions and a dream to pursue her education. Today, she is an award-winning graphic designer. Stories like hers remind us why scholarships matter - opening doors, fueling ambition, and transforming lives. We're so proud to be part of her journey! We appreciate her visiting our office to give us updates on her adventures.

From the classroom to the national stage. 🎨🏆

AWC student Saghey Barcenas has earned national recognition after winning a graphic design competition hosted by NISOD (National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development) and the the University of Texas’ Center for Community College Student Engagement (CCCSE).

Her mural design, inspired by the student journey and the power of student voices, was selected from entries across the country and showcased at a national conference in Austin, Texas. She also received a $1,000 award and conference travel support.

Join us in congratulating Saghey on this incredible achievement and representing AWC on a national level. Read the full story: https://www.azwestern.edu/news/awc-student-wins-national-graphic-design-competition
