Melody Pro Private music teacher & music journalist. This page is full of good music and fun facts for everyone! I was born and raised in a small town in Oklahoma.

I began singing in community and church musical theatre as a small child. In 1995 I began playing in the percussion section of my school orchestra and began classical piano lessons. Continuing lessons for vocal music, piano, drums, and musical theory, I began competing. In junior high school I became an award winning vocalist, pianist, and drummer/percussionist. I auditioned for and was selected for the honor band and the show choir. I also began performing in public at recitals, talent shows, competitions, etc. Once I reached high school, my musical interest was instrumental, to be sure but, my main focus became geared towards musical theatre. I began competing in theatre competitions and continued playing and singing. I auditioned for and was selected for the high school show choir. After graduating high school, I attended Rose State College where I began taking courses on piano and piano instruction. My career took me in a different direction as I entered sixteen years as a Deputy Sheriff. I retired after only sixteen years to care for an aging parent. Now I perform live but mostly focus on sharing all I have learned throughout the years with others as a private music teacher.

"This is Halloween" by Marilyn Manson. Danny Elfman composed "This Is Halloween" on his way to the studio after director John Hughes asked him to write a song for the film.
Marilyn Manson's cover of "This Is Halloween," initially released on the 2006 Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack reissue, was later featured on the Nightmare Revisited album.

Linkin Park's song "Numb" is about the crushing pressure of trying to meet other people's expectations and the emotional shutdown that happens when you lose your own identity.
The narrator feels exhausted from changing to fit a mold set by parents, partners, or authority figures.
Every choice feels like a mistake in the eyes of the person demanding perfection.
Trying to walk in someone else's shoes makes a person feel faithless and lost.

"Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence
Evanescence's hit song "Bring Me to Life" is about waking up from emotional numbness and realizing there is a world beyond pain and isolation.
Lead singer Amy Lee wrote the song after a profound personal encounter. While sitting in a restaurant, a friend of a friend looked at her and asked, "Are you happy?"
At the time, Amy was hiding an emotionally difficult relationship. That single question made her realize how numb and guarded she had become.
Guitarist Ben Moody explained that the song is about discovering someone who awakens feelings you never knew you had, pulling you out of a "safe bubble" and into real emotion.

Nirvana's album Nevermind was released in America, entering the chart at No. 144 in its first week. The album, which peaked at No. 1 in January 1992 has now sold over 30m copies worldwide. The idea for the now iconic front cover shot of the baby swimming came after Kurt Cobain and drummer Dave Grohl saw a TV documentary on water babies.
While Nevermind was initially slow to move up the charts, the success of the single "Smells Like Teen Spirit" eventually pushed the album to No.1. The influence of Nevermind, meanwhile, cannot be understated. This Day In Music History - 1979 - Eagles
The Eagles released their sixth album, The Long Run. The lead single "Heartache Tonight" a song co-written by Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Bob Seger and JD Souther won a Grammy Award. This was the first Eagles album to feature bassist Timothy B.
