Melody Pro Private music teacher & music journalist. This page is full of good music and fun facts for everyone! I was born and raised in a small town in Oklahoma.

I began singing in community and church musical theatre as a small child. In 1995 I began playing in the percussion section of my school orchestra and began classical piano lessons. Continuing lessons for vocal music, piano, drums, and musical theory, I began competing. In junior high school I became an award winning vocalist, pianist, and drummer/percussionist. I auditioned for and was selected f

or the honor band and the show choir. I also began performing in public at recitals, talent shows, competitions, etc. Once I reached high school, my musical interest was instrumental, to be sure but, my main focus became geared towards musical theatre. I began competing in theatre competitions and continued playing and singing. I auditioned for and was selected for the high school show choir. After graduating high school, I attended Rose State College where I began taking courses on piano and piano instruction. My career took me in a different direction as I entered sixteen years as a Deputy Sheriff. I retired after only sixteen years to care for an aging parent. Now I perform live but mostly focus on sharing all I have learned throughout the years with others as a private music teacher.

Being diagnosed with Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis as a drummer...
When I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis as a drummer, it felt like a death sentence for something I loved. But I’ve discovered that drumming is actually incredible physical therapy, requiring all four limbs to work independently and together. What once felt like something MS was taking away has become a skill I’m grateful to use in a whole new way. You won’t keep this drummer down!

"Blood" by In This Moment
"Blood" by In This Moment is an aggressive and empowering anthem about channeling inner rage, overcoming self-doubt, and turning vulnerability into fierce independence. Frontwoman Maria Brink wrote the track during a near-breaking point for the band when members had quit and their future seemed uncertain, transforming that despair into a triumphant fight song.

"25" by The Pretty Reckless
The song "25" by The Pretty Reckless is an autobiographical reflection written by frontwoman Taylor Momsen when she turned 25 years old. It captures a heavy period of personal despair, aging, and disillusionment, dealing with shattered expectations, grief, and the shocking realization of still being alive past a milestone she didn't expect to reach.

"Show Them" by Band Maid feat. The Warning
The song "SHOW THEM" is a cross-continental collaboration between Japan's BAND-MAID and Mexico's The Warning. Its core meaning centers on female strength, unity, and rising to the top together. Co-written by Miku Kobato of BAND-MAID and members of The Warning, the track serves as an anthem depicting a resilient, powerful figure ready to fight and conquer the world.
Both all-women bands wanted the track to reflect their shared experiences, resilience, and presence as women succeeding in the heavy rock industry.
The lyrics celebrate pushing forward without compromise, mirroring how the two bands bridged cultural and language gaps to write face-to-face in Japan.
Vocals are traded and harmonized by BAND-MAID’s Saiki Atsumi and The Warning’s Daniela Villarreal, symbolizing a joint front rather than separate acts.
The composition blends BAND-MAID’s intricate, hard-hitting instrumentation with The Warning’s gritty rock edge, acting as a sonic display of "showing them" what they can achieve together.
