The hopped on charter buses to go see American Martyr, The Blessed Stanley Rother Story!

1st grade was thankful for the cloud cover last Friday after mass! We are all ready for fall, and MORE outside time!

School has been back in session at St. John of Nepomuk for a week, and that’s a good reminder from MSgt. Henderson to keep those back-to-school safety habits going! 🚸

🚗 Slow down and obey school zone speed limits.
🛑 Stop for school buses when they’re picking up or dropping off students.
👀 Stay alert and watch for kids walking, biking, and crossing the road.

First all school mass for year in the books!

For years, SJN has had a “Vocations Crucifix” exchange, where one family takes the crucifix and pray over it for the week, specially for vocations. There is a binder of written prayers for the family to follow.
The following week, it is exchanged after mass with the next family.

This year, we’d love to acknowledge each family week after week, and we encourage you to pray for them, as they pray for others.

The McCollough family is first up this week!

For the last 20 years, SJN has sorted middle schoolers into their designated “houses.”
A tradition started by Fr. Novak, it encourages service, collaboration, strong values, community and faith.
Last week the new Middle School students were placed into Aquinas, Drexel, or the Rother House. The staff is in the John house.

The day is memorable for these kiddos! Lunch, games, and of course a water balloon fight at the end!

They will complete service projects throughout the year, and each house will earn points. The house with the most points at the end of the year wins a special field trip.

After finishing the Institute for Classical Education’s CEFC program, our wonderful second grade teacher, Mrs. Stephens,
completed a Master’s in Classical and Liberal Education from Belmont Abbey College.

We are so proud of her hard work, not to mention doing it all with a smile. We are so happy she chooses SJN as her school family!

Congrats Mrs. Stephens!

🏫Welcome back!

Our first day was awesome! Thank you to our principal, staff, volunteers, parents and students!

Our theme this year is based on Isaiah 43:1 “…I have called you by your name; you are Mine.'”

🌳Check out the beautiful mural with all the kiddos names created by the talented Jim Stephens (husband to our one and only Mrs. Stephens, who might have helped a bit 😉)

🍪 The Archdiocese of Oklahoma City delivered a tray of cookies!
