📢 Attention students, Crafton Hills College campus will remain open today - Monday, September 30, 2024. 📢

Due to poor air quality, all outdoor activities are canceled and the pool is closed. Students who are unable to attend classes due to the YCJUSD closure, evacuations, or health concerns associated with poor air quality should communicate with their professors.

We will continue to monitor the Line Fire and provide any additional updates via email. If you need assistance connecting to community resources, please contact the Basic Needs Office 909-389-3455.

Crafton Hills College will remain closed tomorrow, Tuesday, September 10, due to the ongoing impact of the Line Fire on our community.

All classes and operations will be canceled, except for emergency personnel.

Please remain off campus during this time to ensure your safety.

We will provide the next update by tomorrow evening as we continue to monitor the situation and assess if it’s safe to reopen on Wednesday, September 11.

Yesterday was an extremely special day for recently graduated paramedic student River Casner. At the invitation of , River returned to the city where he completed his internship to shake the hand of a man he and his crew successfully resuscitated just a few weeks ago, Mr Steele.

Mr Steele was out for a walk with his wife when he suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. Two heroic bystanders stopped and performed CPR until River’s precepting crew arrived. Multiple advanced lifesaving procedures were performed, resulting in the return of Mr Steele’s heartbeat and ultimately full recovery. This was the first time River had responded to this nature of emergency during his internship but the education and training he had dedicated himself to over the last year afforded him the skill set to perform in such a manner that Mr Steele regained consciousness while in the ambulance.

There is no greater feeling for a paramedic than to know they truly made a difference for a patient. We are so happy to see Mr Steele enjoying life with his family and could not be more proud of River for his part in that. .casner
