JSS Weekly Memo, 8/31/26
Hello JSS Families,
Nugget #1: Fall Sports
Games for 7th and 8th Grade Co-ed Volleyball will begin this week. The first home game is Wednesday, September 2, at 4:00 p.m. against Happy Camp. Tryouts for 5th-8th Grade Cross Country will be held this week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Tryout permission slips with more details are available for pickup in the office. Sports packets may also be picked up in the office. These packets must be updated yearly along with sports physicals. Students must earn a 2.0 and no more than 1F in the grading period prior to a sport’s season in order to be eligible to try out. For Fall sports the last grading period was the end of the fourth quarter, last school year.
Nugget #2: AFTER School/Student Success Club
AFTER school will be in session, daily until 6:00 p.m., all week, providing supper, snack, and a menu of activities. Student Success Club days, including Extended Learning after school have not been scheduled yet. Information and flyers will be shared once they are.
Nugget #3: Attendance Awareness Campaign
We’re excited to kick off our participation in the Siskiyou County 2026 Attendance Awareness Campaign. We have planned an informational and fun-filled month of attendance awareness activities including weekly information shared in our memo and on social media, weekly and monthly group and individual recognition for students, and some fabulous incentives.
