💙 During our Pink Out and last home game, LHS DECA is participating in a Miracle Minute to help the Humane Society. DECA students will have one minute to collect as many donations as possible to support this cause. Listen for the announcement on Friday night!

🐾 As Railsplitters, our hearts are big enough to show up for more than one cause. Want to help right now? Scan the QR code below or tap the link and donate. Donations go to feeding and caring for local shelter pets.

NEW YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PERMIT PORTAL

What’s changing? The platform.

What’s not changing? Michigan’s youth employment laws and protections.

Beginning Oct. 2 youth employment permits will be processed through the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity’s (LEO) new Youth Employment Permit Portal rather than through schools. The transition to the new portal does not change Michigan’s youth employment laws, requirements or protections. It simply moves the permit process to a new, centralized online platform.

A valid youth employment permit issued by a Michigan school before Oct. 2, 2026 will continue to be valid until the minor turns 18 or graduates. A new work permit is needed if the minor changes jobs.

Please share information about the new Youth Employment Permit Portal and the new website, www.michigan.gov/YEPP with students, families, educators and employers in your community so they know where to go when they need a youth employment permit.

Lincoln is proud to participate in the Next Level Scholars Program.

The Next Level Scholars Program is part of the Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars organization, which is also connected to the national program.

This program gives students the chance to:
✅ Visit and explore local college campuses (U of M, Michigan State, Wayne State, University of Toledo, and more).
✅ Receive free support with important college requirements like FAFSA, essays, and applications.
✅ Earn a $4,000 scholarship (by maintaining a 2.0 GPA and attending all trips—one absence per year is allowed). This scholarship can be used at a university, college, trade school, or even saved until after military service.

The best part? This program is for everyone with a 2.0 GPA or higher—not just students with a 4.0! Space is limited!!! Lincoln Sophomores can apply here by October 16th: http://apply.drdfs.org/
