I know I don’t post here much anymore, but this is one of those times.

Hi all, I’m sorry this page has been quiet for almost a year.

A lot has changed in my life. I suffered a serious traumatic brain injury in December, 2022. Over the last year, I suffered two more brain injuries due to the first one. I was hospitalized each time.

The fallout has left me with a host of physical and mental issues. I had to step away from this page, my podcast, and three websites. I’m hoping to get everything back on track this year as I slowly heal.

In the interim I have been using art as a therapy. I created two coloring books and I am building a Facebook art page that is just my name, Tim Woolworth.

𝐍𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐬 𝟏: 𝑳𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒃𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒂

In this bonus content, you will hear about a case that may be the earliest poltergeist case on record in the colonial United States as this case dates back to the 1680s. This manifestation was located on Great Island, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and it afflicted the George Walton family.

This manifestation was blamed on witches and it included some of the hallmarks of poltergeist activity including stone throwing with stones hot to the touch, objects moving, banging, and voices. We know about this case because it was written about by the famed Puritan minister, Increase Mather.

The story goes that George Walton was took the land of the widow Hannah Jones by accusing her of witchcraft. She then cursed him so a stone throwing devil would afflict him. The stone throwing devil has become known as 𝐿𝑖𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑏𝑜𝑙𝑖𝑎 in poltergeist lore, and this is the text where that term was first incorporated.

In this second exploration of the poltergeist mystery, we touch upon one of the most common things one will find in a poltergeist-like haunting: Lithobolia, which literally means Stone Throwing Devil.

Lithobolia was featured in Episode 1 with the Bingen Demon case. It is also featured in one of the 20th century cases presented in this episode.

The first case is the Battersea Mystery House. This case was fantastic and involved not only stones, but furniture moving and being destroyed, windows being shattered, and apports in front of credible witnesses. We featured this case because it was investigated by the intrepid Harry Price who helped bring the word "poltergeist" into common parlance.

The second case we feature is from Baltimore with Dr. Nandor Fodor. This case was exceptional because Dr. Fodor solved the case using talk therapy with the agent of the poltergeist haunting.

We then move forward a millennium to Italy, where the father of criminology, psychologist and medical doctor, Cesare Lombroso, investigated a poltergeist case and inadvertently discovered what poltergeist researchers have accepted since then: that a poltergeist case is the result of a person, not a spirit.
