Congratulations to EMU CELLO music education major, Rose Kilburn, on their creatively inspired and immersive junior recital this past week! Rose’s program, “The Gallery,” performed alongside pianists Eric Shore and Stephen Lynn, paired works by Bach, Debussy, Zhou Long, and Elgar with different pieces of visual artwork by Monet, Martin Kline, a collection of eight ancient Chinese artists, and Picasso.

This was a massive week of performances for EMU CELLO! Congratulations to cellists Anna Cole, who performed “Bright Mountains in Early Spring” from Yoko Nakamura’s Suite No. 1, and Rose Kilburn, who performed the Prelude from Bach’s Suite No. 3 in C Major, and all the featured performers in ’s Honors Recital! It was a beautiful showcase of all the creative energy happening at our school 🎉💚

Congratulations to EMU CELLO music education major, Lauryn Hightower, on their wonderful senior recital this past week! Lauryn performed music by Bach, Kalie Akel, Shostakovich duos (each with a member of the cello studio including Professor Pae!), Lei Liang, and Lalo with pianist Stephen Lynn. What a culmination of all their years at EMU—onwards to student teaching! 💚🎉

They performed music by Sulkhan Tsintsadze, Bach, Lei Liang, and Prokofiev with collaborators Leah Fox and Ben Luczak. What a culmination of their years at EMU—onwards to student teaching! 💚🎉
