It's true. Word has gotten out that I'm teaching Beginning Jazz Dance for 1st-3rd graders! I adore this class in which I get to teach the youth cool jazz steps and concepts, like body design (symmetrical and asymmetrical,) steps like grapevine, kick ball-change, sugar, chase and different kinds of turns and jumps. Oh! and polyrhythm is when we combine movements with different rhythmic accents into a satisfying groove. Floorwork (AKA as down time, ha!) is always fun and 1/2 splits, slide and seat spins are always a fav!
