Ypsilanti STEMM Middle College Students begin college work while still in high school, taking a mixture of HS and college courses, earning a HS diploma & up to 60+ college credits.

All YCHS students taking classes on campus at WCC for the 1st time should plan to attend WCC Welcome Day on August 26th at 9am. What a great way to get on track for excellence! WCC classes start August 31st, same day as YCHS.

A new school year means new expectations.

Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, Ypsilanti Community Schools will follow a first bell to last bell cell phone expectation. Cell phones and personal wireless communication devices must remain stored away throughout the school day, with approved exceptions for medical needs, accommodations, authorized instructional use, and emergencies.

Our goal is simple: fewer distractions, stronger connections, safer schools, and more opportunities for our scholars to focus on learning.

Families can still reach their scholar during the school day by contacting the school office.

Looking for a high school with early college options that include transportation and allows full access to the benefits of a traditional high school (sports, marching band, CTE, performing and fine arts)? Students can begin college classes as early as 10th grade towards the Michigan Transfer Agreement and/or the WCC program of their choosing.
We are still accepting applications for the 2026-27 school year.

WCC Summer Bridge is a great program to help high school students prepare for successful dual enrollment and is recommended for current 10th & 11th graders who are not yet on track to take college level classes at WCC. Applications are due May 1st.
