Congratulations to our student team!!! - On October 15, 2025 our student team participated in the MISHRM HR Games competition in Grand Rapids, MI, and won the Callie Zipple Spirit of HR Award!
MISHRM established this award in honor of Ms. Callie Zipple, former SHRM Field Services Director, who served as the HR Games keynote speaker in 2018 and sadly passed away in 2019 after her battle with cancer. At the conclusion of the Games each year, participants, volunteers, and advisors vote for the team that best represents the Spirit of HR — showing professionalism, a positive attitude, and respect for fellow competitors and volunteers.
Our team members — Sebastiaan Johnson, Ariel Lund, and Lily Gechter — did a fantastic job representing EMU. All three currently serve as officers of the EMU SHRM Student Chapter. As part of the award, each of them received a complimentary SHRM-CP exam fee and a Certification Course Preparation Pass.
