Celebration continues! Huge congratulations to our graduates who earned their degrees in Arts & Entertainment Management, and Arts Administration. Here are a few highlights from last Saturday’s commencement. Please join us in congratulating Prince and Elise, who were with us in spirit!

The title of her research was "In Search of Better Endings: Examining a Docent Program’s Transition"

Congratulations to graduating senior Arts & Entertainment Management major Rylee Curley for presenting at the 46th Annual Undergraduate Symposium that took place on Friday, March 27th at the EMU Student Center!

Her presentation, "The Development of WONDERCORD," was supported by the Symposium Undergraduate Research Fellow Program. WONDERCORD is an indie animated series about "ten characters who get stuck in a realm of purple skies and pink clouds."

One of Riley's friends and a voice actor on the project even turned up for the event! His name is James Muenzenmaier and he's the voice actor for Felix McGern on the project.

Last Monday, March 23rd, the AMA 453W/553 class (Marketing the Arts) got to hear from guest speaker, Chris Simpson, the founder of . His talk discussed marketing and branding in the music business.

Congratulations to Joseph Cyrus, a 2nd year MA student in Arts Administration, for presenting at the Graduate Research and Creative Activity Conference last Friday, March 20th! The Graduate Research and Creative Activity Conference is an annual event at Eastern Michigan University that highlights the outstanding research, scholarship, and creative work of graduate students.

They gave a video presentation entitled Sonic Testimony: Black Sound as Emotional Archive, Diasporic Memory, and Curatorial Practice.

Chris Simpson, founder of , is a Detroit-based music business professional and entrepreneur with experience in music marketing, artist development, and community building. He has worked with organizations such as Live Nation, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and Warner Music Group. Chris will be joining the Marketing in the Arts class to share his professional expertise and insights from the music industry. We invite you to join the class to learn from his experience and connect with him!!

Due to the nice weather we had on Monday, the CTAR 541 (Research Techniques) graduate class spent sometime outside, enjoying Starbucks drinks and conversations at the Commons following their lecture!
