Hello Paralegal/Legal Studies Students and Community

Professor Antkowiak will be offering another CLE on August 23 from 1-4 PM. This session will be offered at Westmoreland Community College's Latrobe campus.

The first two hours will be a summary of new cases on evidence in Pennsylvania presented by Professor Antkowiak. The third hour will be an ethics presentation by Professor Jon Vallano of the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. He will review the ethical demands placed on attorneys to search out and use expert testimony when it could aid the client’s cause. Professor Vallano is himself an expert witness, specializing in eyewitness identification.

The cost is still only $25 for 2 substantive and one ethics credit.

For registration to attend in person, please email [email protected] or [email protected] and include your Bar ID in the email. The $25 fee can be paid at the door through check or cash only.

Walk-ins are also welcome!

We are excited to share some great news for Pennsylvania’s paralegal community!

Governor Josh Shapiro has issued an official proclamation recognizing August 3–7, 2026, as Paralegal Week in Pennsylvania, with August 6, 2026, designated as Paralegal Day.

With National Paralegal Day celebrated on August 6, this proclamation gives Pennsylvania paralegals even more reason to celebrate this year. It recognizes the important role paralegals play in the delivery of legal services and provides an opportunity to highlight the professionalism, knowledge, and dedication paralegals bring to the legal community every day.

We hope you will join us in celebrating Paralegal Week and, especially, Paralegal Day on August 6. Whether through your work, professional involvement, continuing education, mentoring, or service to your community, your contributions make a difference.

Happy Paralegal Week to Pennsylvania’s paralegal professionals, and Happy Paralegal Day!

We are proud to celebrate with you.
