Welcome Elaya!! Elaya Weaver is the Head Girls Soccer Coach at Ascension High School and brings five years of girls soccer coaching experience, along with 16 years of playing experience, to the program. A California native, she played soccer at the collegiate level before moving to Louisiana two and a half years ago, where she has come to love the culture and community. Elaya also currently coaches for LA Krewe Rush, continuing her commitment to helping young athletes grow and succeed. She and her husband, Hunter, have been married for four years and have one son, William. She is proud to be part of Blue Gator Athletics and looks forward to making a positive impact on her players and the school community.

Welcome Morgan Deshotels to our varsity coach staff as a Head Coach!! Morgan is from Lafayette and is a graduate of St. Thomas More High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is currently pursuing her master's degree and entering her eighth year in education, her fourth year at Ascension, and her second year coaching cross country and track.

Her favorite part of coaching is helping students realize they are capable of more than they think they are. She enjoys watching athletes build confidence, overcome challenges, and discover that they can accomplish difficult things. Building relationships with her athletes and being part of their journey as they grow in confidence, discipline, and their love for the sport is what makes coaching so rewarding.

An Acadiana native and graduate of Teurlings Catholic High School, Coach Dusty Collette brings more than 15 years of experience as a coach, teacher, and mentor. A former three-sport varsity athlete and Football All-State Offensive MVP, he continued his football career at the collegiate level before earning his degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Throughout his career, he has coached football, softball and baseball while serving students both in the classroom and through athletics across Acadiana.

Coach Collette and his wife, Ashley, recently celebrated 17 years of marriage and are the proud parents of two sons, Carson and Colin. With Carson joining Ascension as a sophomore this fall, the Collette family is especially excited to become part of the Blue Gator community and contribute to Ascension’s tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, faith and character.
