Lew-Port sent six talented musicians to NYSSMA All-State to experience 4 days of incredible rehearsal, networking and performance at the Eastman School of Music. Two days of breathtaking concerts. Congratulations Stephanie, Alicia, Katrina, Olivia, Quinn and John. We are so proud of all of you. And congratulations parents and teachers!!!!

We are so proud of our Lewport contingent at Senior High Area All-State at SUNY Fredonia today. Choruses sounded awesome!! Now on to the orchestras and band. Way to go everyone!!

A wonderful opportunity to see some fantastic music.....including two of Lew ports finest. Today the GBYO
will be playing at UB in lippes hall at 3:00. 10.00 per ticket, Alicia Pucci is a violist with the group.

Former grad Greg Avilia-Shah plays the cello for the buffalo state philharmonia and will be performing Nov 14 at 730 at performing arts center at Rockwell hall.

This is a great opportunity to see how lew ports music program is translating into our student being involved in the wider community.

Music Boosters is excited to announce the "Summer of 69" Scholarship fundraiser. This is a fundraiser independent of Music Boosters, however it is awarded to a Lewiston Porter senior. Stop by for a great night out, with great musicians, for a great cause!!!!

A YES Vote on the Budget means another music teacher!!! Please spread the word!!!

Yes-- you read that correctly! If all goes well, the district could be in a position to hire an additional FULL-TIME music teacher for next year. After years of nail biting, or outright cuts to the music program, this comes as extremely encouraging news. Mr. Casseri, the Superintendent, has already approved the position-- BUT THE APPROVAL IS CONTINGENT ON THE BUDGET FOR 2017-18 PASSING!!

So we are asking everyone to please make sure you get out and vote YES on the budget this coming Tuesday, May 16. This year, it's not just a good thing for all the kids in the district, but there is a special benefit to our music students. Please help us pass the word along-- bring a friend, bring several-- bring your family if they are eligible-- let's get this budget passed so our music program can grow!!

There is also a Brickyard chicken dinner fundraiser that night, so if you need a good something to eat after voting, grab one-- or ask your kids to get some tickets in advance!

Music Booster scholarships: please note...the Music Boosters sponsors up to 3 scholarships for the Dr. Glen Leis Memorial Scholarship. Dr. Leis was the principal of LPSH from 1974-1980 and was a big supporter of the music program and music boosters. He was killed in a car accident, and this scholarship is in his honor. The application, transcripts and evaluation form from music teacher must be in by may 5, 2017 to be considered. Please see guidance and take advantage of this!!!!!!
