Back-to-school is almost here! Is your child up to date on their required school vaccinations?
The Youngstown City Health Department will be at the Public Library to help families get ready for the new school year with back-to-school immunizations.

Not much to look at yet. We officially started our first colonies of White Springtails, Powder Blue Isopods, and Powder Pink Isopods, giving them a healthy mix of our bioactive substrate to get them established. With a little patience, these tiny cleanup crews will soon be ready to spread into the terrariums we have in the works.
We also picked up a few new plants to help bring those habitats to life, including Hanging Peperomia and Selaginella. These will make great filler plants and lush ground cover while creating a more natural environment for the animals that will eventually call these terrariums home.
Every great ecosystem starts small. We can't wait to watch these cultures grow and share the journey with you!

We surprised our little friends with some popsicle treats before settling in for another story time. They always get excited when we visit, but today they were in for something new. For the first time, they got to hear Mos read one of his favorite childhood books, The Gruffalo.

There's something special about sharing a book that meant so much to you growing up. Seeing the smiles, laughter, and imagination come alive reminds us why we love partnering with our local daycares. Do you remeber the name of your favorite childhood book?
