Hey everyone! Meet Zane!
Hobbies: Hiking, Eating, Reading, Tomfoolery with friends
Favorite Class: Electromagnetic Field Theory 2
Why I liked this class: It's hard to explain why I loved this class. It was the hardest class I have ever taken, at first glance it seemed entirely unintuitive, and to this day I still can't solve a problem in less than an hour or two. Because of this I didn't care how I performed in the class; I spent my time reading textbooks about it and I started to realize how connected it was to everything around me, and I mean everything. Also, if you have had a class with Dr. Priour you understand that his enthusiasm is contagious. I recall him taking all four students in that class outside and onto a hill where he explained how that grassy manifold was a near representation of a solution to Laplace's Equation, my first thought was "I don't know what that means" but he made me want to understand what it meant. I think that's a rare ability and I accredit a lot of my interest in the class to him.

One of the best parts about being a PAGGES major is getting to do hands on research with faculty! There's no better way to learn than getting some experience out in the field.

Exploring the Wonders of Physics! 🧪✨
Dr. Mike Crescimanno from our Physics Department visited Cardinal Mooney to bring science to life for AP Physics students. Through an engaging demo of the equivalence principle, students experienced the fascinating concept of “weightlessness” in orbital motion—expecting splashes, but witnessing science defy expectations.
Thank you, Dr. Crescimanno, for inspiring the next generation of physicists! 🐧❤️

Three graduate students and three undergraduate students in environmental science presented their research under the guidance of Dr. Felicia Armstrong at the 53rd Water Management Association of Ohio (WMAO) annual conference and symposium. WMAO is a professional organization that has served Ohio for 50 years, promoting effective management focused on water disciplines through five divisions and multiple interest areas. The conference provides opportunities for open discussions and educational outreach through dozens of speakers in various areas of the water science field, along with poster presentations by university students. This year, the Ohio water science community celebrated milestones, including the 75th anniversary of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the 50th anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act, highlighting the progress and continued optimism in Ohio's water history. Additionally, six engineering students from YSU presented their research.

Thanks to Dr. Tom Jordan for his interview with 21 WFMJ today!
Researchers discover 'Lithium Goldmine' in Pennsylvania
Jordan says self-source the production of the chemical element, as opposed to outsourcing the work to countries like China, Chile and Argentina.
