New Parent Orientation Reminder!

A quick reminder to join us tomorrow, Wednesday, August 12, from 6–7 PM in the Cardinal Mooney auditorium for our new parent information session!

Our school administrators will cover important information to help you and your student start the school year with confidence, including the school calendar, bell schedule, PowerSchool, uniform policies and lunch accounts.

It’s a great opportunity to learn the essentials, ask questions, and connect with our school community. We can’t wait to welcome our new families and kick off an exciting new school year at Mooney!

AP Scholar Excellence at Cardinal Mooney!

We are proud to recognize Nyi Thant, a member of Cardinal Mooney’s Class of 2026 and an AP Scholar!

Nyi graduated in the top 10 of his class, a testament to his hard work, dedication, and commitment to academic excellence. This fall, he will continue his journey at John Carroll University.

At Cardinal Mooney, we’re investing in our student leaders!

For the second year, CMHS has partnered with Effective Leadership Academy (ELA) from the Cleveland area to provide our Student Council members with an engaging, hands-on leadership experience.

Through interactive activities, team challenges, and meaningful discussions, our students worked on communication, teamwork, self-awareness, and leadership skills...while discovering more about their own strengths and how they can positively influence those around them.

Our Student Council leaders are building the skills they’ll carry into the classroom here at Mooney.... and beyond!

Congratulations to Abigail Markey, Class of 2026, on being named an AP Scholar by the College Board!

AP Scholars are recognized for outstanding achievement across multiple AP Exams, earning scores of 3 or higher on at least three exams.

Abigail's academic accomplishments are just one part of an impressive Cardinal Mooney career. This fall, she will attend Mount Union, where she plans to study civil engineering while continuing her athletic career as a two-sport athlete in soccer and track & field.

We are incredibly proud of Abigail and all she has accomplished in the classroom and on the field. Congratulations, Abigail! ⭐

AP Scholar Excellence at Cardinal Mooney!

Congratulations to Hannah English, Class of 2026, on being named an AP Scholar by the College Board!

AP Scholars are recognized for demonstrating outstanding achievement across multiple AP Exams, earning scores of 3 or higher on at least three exams.

We recognized Hannah last week for earning a perfect score of 5 on the AP 2D Art & Design Exam. We are thrilled to also recognize her as an AP Scholar for her achievement across multiple AP courses.

We are incredibly proud of Hannah and her commitment to academic excellence! This fall, Hannah will attend Youngstown State University, where she plans to study biology through the BaccMed Program.

For more than two decades, Chrissy Goss has been a dedicated volunteer, administrative assistant, and tireless champion for the students and families of St. Nicholas School. She is always there… giving her time, energy, and heart to make St. Nicholas a special place. And for those of us who visit from Mooney, we know her best for that smile and warm welcome she always has for us. She is an incredible partner!

AP Excellence at Cardinal Mooney!

Congratulations to Max Marino, Class of 2028, on earning a perfect score on the AP Human Geography Exam!

A perfect score is one of the highest distinctions awarded by the College Board and is achieved by only a very small percentage of students worldwide. Max's accomplishment reflects his exceptional academic ability, dedication, and willingness to embrace the challenge of college-level coursework.

We also celebrate Mrs. Ally Popichak, whose AP Human Geography class produced four perfect scores and achieved a pass rate above the global average. We are incredibly proud of Max, Mrs. Popichak, and our students who continue to exhibit academic excellence!

Beginning next week, we'll continue our AP celebration by recognizing the many Cardinal Mooney students who earned AP Scholar honors from the College Board for their outstanding performance across multiple AP exams.

Serving others is at the heart of what it means to be a Mooney Cardinal.

Our Class of 2030 Merit Scholars spent yesterday evening volunteering at the Dorothy Day House, helping prepare, serve, and clean up after a community meal.

The Dorothy Day House is dedicated to fostering personal relationships and strengthening community through service, following the spirit and vision of the Catholic Worker Movement and co-founder Dorothy Day. We were grateful for the opportunity to be part of that mission.

This is wonderful start to a year of scholarship, service, leadership, and community.
