Cardinal Mooney has made history once again at the National Speech and Debate Association Northern Ohio District Tournament!

For the 19th time in school history, we have captured the district title! In doing so, the program has punched its ticket to its 60th National Speech And Debate Tournament, which takes place in Des Moines, Iowa, this summer! Only 13 schools in the entire country have reached the NSDA tournament as many times.

This is the first district title the program has won since 2022, and first one for first-year head coach Allyson Cooper!

Great job, team — thank you for keeping the tradition alive!

🌹 Happy St. Valentine’s Day from Cardinal Mooney! 🌹

Today, we celebrate not just love, but the deeper call to self-giving and sacrifice that St. Valentine exemplified. As a priest in ancient Rome, he defied persecution to marry couples in the faith, ultimately giving his life for Christ. His witness reminds us that true love is rooted in God—selfless, enduring, and sacrificial.

On this day, let us reflect on Christ’s ultimate love, which calls us to love one another with kindness, patience, and faithfulness (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). May our always strive to live out this love in our words and actions.

Designed for all student-athletes, The Armory serves as a training hub that enhances physical performance and fosters teamwork, perseverance, and personal growth. It is also home to physical education classes and offers open hours for students who wish to prioritize their health and fitness.

Through structured training and guided instruction, The Armory instills the values of hard work, commitment, and self-discipline—principles that extend far beyond athletics. By investing in the total development of each student, Cardinal Mooney remains steadfast in its Catholic mission, ensuring that every young man and woman who walks through its doors is prepared not just for competition, but for life.

Our all-school Mass on Tuesday, which was the Feast Of Our Lady Of Lourdes, was extra special.
This particular day saw the commissioning of three students as Eucharistic Ministers. Congratulations to Delanie, Rocco, and Aidan. You have our gratitude for your faith and willingness to serve Cardinal Mooney High School.

Four senior members of Cardinal Mooney High School’s Ora et Labora club spent Monday morning at Project MKC in Boardman, assembling toiletry bags for comfort kits given to local foster children.

Accompanied by club moderator and theology teacher Melissa Dulik, the students also toured the facility and learned about Project MKC’s efforts to support those in need across Northeast Ohio.
