YCSD will move to a remote learning model with actively engaged teachers for four days leading to the Winter Break. The district has seen a significant number of quarantine cases due to exposure to COVID-19 as well as positive COVID-19 cases. Cases are across all buildings and departments, including the food service and central kitchen, which has created an inability to properly feed on-site or distribute on site safely.

We appreciate our scholars, staff and community cooperation during this challenging time. Our team is prepared to provide a quality remote learning experience for all scholars, and families are encouraged to make sure their children attend school each day from home. Scholars will NOT have classes on December 16th, and remote learning will be held from December 17-22. We will take ATTENDANCE during remote instruction. Scholars will adhere to their regular bell or master schedule each day while receiving remote instruction. Using REMIND, teachers will send scholars the classroom Zoom links for the LIVE Zoom classes. YOU Care Clinics at East High School and Chaney High School will be open until DECEMBER 17 during regular business hours.

November is National Career Development Month, and YCSD CEO Justin M. Jennings is encouraging our scholars and families to learn more about career preparation and planning for the future. YCSD Scholars need to see a link between what they are learning and future work. The Ohio Department of Education Career Connections program offers practical ways for families and community members to show scholars, as early as kindergarten, the types of careers possible for them.
