Training in martial arts and development of skills which can actually be used in combat and self defense should also include physical conditioning. Being stronger, faster, more flexible and in better condition helps when fighting for real, and also has benefits for your overall health and well-being. Multiple studies conducted by law enforcement and military groups have shown that those who suffer combat injuries and who are in good physical condition have a higher chance of survival and recovery from wounds than do those suffering the same injuries who are in poor physical condition.

I have not written or posted anything here in quite a while due to restrictions on social media use and on off duty employment related to my law enforcement career, and due to my efforts primarily focusing on that career.
With some of those restrictions being relaxed and with becoming eligible for retirement from my career, I am planning to once again write and teach more about Albo Kali Silat and self defense in general. This means there should be some content here in the next several months.
After retirement I plan to do much more teaching and to schedule some seminars.
