🇺🇸☘️ Remembering D-Day ☘️🇺🇸
On June 6, 1944, thousands of brave Allied soldiers crossed the English Channel and landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, beginning the liberation of Western Europe during World War II.
Many never made it home.
Today, the Burke School of Irish Dance pauses to remember the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of those who faced impossible odds in defense of freedom. Among them were countless Americans of Irish heritage whose stories, traditions, and families helped shape the communities we know today.
As dancers, we spend our days preserving history, culture, and tradition. D-Day reminds us that freedom itself is a gift preserved by generations willing to serve something greater than themselves.
Eighty years later, the names, faces, and sacrifices of those heroes still echo through history.
Today, we remember.
Today, we honor.
Today, we give thanks.
🇺🇸 May we never forget the price of freedom. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸❤️ Memorial Day ❤️🇺🇸
Today, the Burke School of Irish Dance pauses to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.
Memorial Day is more than the beginning of summer or a long weekend. It is a day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may live freely, gather with family, celebrate traditions, and pass our heritage on to future generations.
As we reflect today, we are reminded of the words from In Flanders Fields — that the legacy of those who served lives on through us, through remembrance, and through the freedoms they fought to protect.
May we never forget the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of America’s fallen heroes.
From our Burke family to all Gold Star families, veterans, active duty military, and those remembering loved ones today — we honor you. ❤️

💚☘️ Lá na Máithreacha sona duit ☘️💚
(Happy Mother’s Day)
Today, the Burke School of Irish Dance celebrates the mothers, grandmothers, dance moms, and all the incredible women who help make every step possible. 💃
From fixing curls, pinning bows, securing wigs, gluing gems, carrying extra electrical tape and safety pins…
To carrying dance bags, calming nerves, cheering the loudest, and somehow always making it all happen — your love and support are woven into every performance, every hard shoe, and every moment on stage.
Behind the music and sparkle of Irish dance is the quiet strength of mothers who give endlessly of themselves for the people they love. And for that, we are forever grateful. ☘️
“Go mairfidh tú go dtí go mbeidh tú céad bliain d'aois.” 🇮🇪
May you live to be a hundred years old.
May your day be filled with love, laughter, peace, and the joy you bring to so many others each and every day.
From all of us at the Burke School of Irish Dance,
thank you for the heart you bring to our Burke family. 💚

🍀💚St. Patrick’s Day 2026…💚🍀
From the first step this morning to the final hard shoe of the night, the dancers of the Burke School of Irish Dance spent St. Patrick’s Day doing what they love most — sharing Irish tradition with our community.
They traveled across the Mahoning Valley and beyond, hopping on and off the bus, tying shoes, fixing bows, adjusting skirts and shirts, and stepping onto stage after stage. Hard shoes thundered, reels flew by, and smiles filled every room.
Our dancers brought Irish music, energy, and tradition to so many wonderful places today including the following public performances, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who welcomed us:
✨ Magic Tree Pub & Eatery
✨ Penguin City - Youngstown, OH
✨ ☘️ Irish Bob's Pub ☘️
✨ Westside Bowl
✨ BIRDFISH BREWING CO.
✨ Fraternal Order of Eagles 3298
✨ Youngstown Maennerchor
To the owners, staff, and guests at every stop — thank you for celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with the Burke dancers and making each performance so special. Your support means the world to our school and to these hardworking dancers.
We would also like to give a special thank you to
The Mahoning Valley Irish Festival for their unwavering support of the Burke School of Irish Dance and everything we do to celebrate and share Irish culture throughout our community. Your continued support means more than you know. ☘️
And now… across the Valley tonight, dance bags have finally been dropped by the door, hard shoes kicked off, and some very tired Burke dancers are fast asleep, dreaming of jigs, reels, and the thunder of hard shoes after a full day of Irish pride. ☘️💃
But Green Season isn’t quite over yet!
We still have three more performances to wrap up the St. Patrick’s Day season:
☘️ Two nursing home visits later this week
☘️ And one final public performance
✨ Peter Allen Inn — Saturday ✨
Your last chance this season to catch the Burke School of Irish Dance live!
Thank you again to everyone who cheered, clapped, hosted, and celebrated with us today. The Mahoning Valley truly knows how to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. 🇮🇪💚
