Hello families!!!
I hope everyone is having a great summer! Iβm doing well and Iβm so excited for you all to see our new school! Our building is really coming along beautifully! We will be having an open house closer to the end of August, more information to follow.
Hey, if anyone is in need of food assistance, there is an amazing young man who did a service project and donated food trays to REC. They are in my office. I will be at the building tomorrow from 10-1. If you would like to come pick up a food tray, please reach out via text to me on my cell, or message me on Parent Square or Messenger. Thanks everyone! Love, Dr. D. π§‘π€π§‘π€

CONGRATULATIONS to our very own soon to be 8th grader, Josiah Jackson! These are the excited words of Mrs. Bridget Lambright-Tommelleo, who headed up the Do The Write Thing Project for YCSD.
βI wanted to share some exciting news about our Do the WRITE Thing first-place winner, Josiah Jackson. While attending the national recognition events in Washington, D.C., Josiah received an extraordinary honor. He was selected to read his essay at the Library of Congress. Out of all the students participating in the national program, only four students were chosen for this distinguished opportunity.
This is an incredible accomplishment for Josiah and a proud moment for Youngstown City School District. His selection speaks not only to the quality of his writing, but also to the power of his voice and message. He represented YCSD with excellence and we couldn't be more proud.β
RECMS could not be more proud of Josiah and his ELA teacher, Ms. Hannah Lavelle, who also accompanied him to D.C. Way to go Josiah and Ms. Lavelle!!! We are so lucky to have you both!!!π§‘π€π§‘π€π§‘π€
