Every year, Mrs. Graham, our Art Teacher, has her scholars design and draw their dream cake. Then after scholars and staff vote, she tries to replicate the drawing and bake it into life! Here is this year‘s winning dream cake! (just another shining example of how our staff go above and beyond!)🎂🍰🧁🎂🍰🧁🎂🍰🧁🎂🍰

RECMS 7th grade scholar, Josiah Jackson, was named Youngstown’s student ambassador Tuesday during the Youngstown City School District’s annual Do the Write Thing recognition luncheon at B&O Station downtown.
As ambassador, Josiah will travel to Washington, D.C., this summer to represent Youngstown at the national Do the Write Thing conference, where students from across the country gather to discuss violence prevention and youth leadership.
Other RECMS finalists recognized Tuesday were Nayelis Esteras, Lania Gilford, Gabriella Cruz Maldonado, Zy’ayer Mitchell, and Dawn Taylor! So very proud of all of their accomplishments, and grateful for all of the amazing teaching and guidance from Miss Hannah Lavelle, seventh grade ELA teacher, Mr. Chris Murphy, eighth grade ELA teacher, Mr. David Wyler, 7/8 grade Lit Lab teacher, and Mrs. Stephanie Blose, Instructional Coach! Below is Josiah with his very proud seventh grade teacher, Miss Lavelle!🧡🖤🧡🖤👏👏👏
