EMPLOYMENT SKILLS and TRAINING PROGRAM PLANNED September 4-11
MYCAP SEEKS INDIVIDUALS FOR NEXT FREE SKILLS TRAINING CLASS
(Next Class to Begin September 23, 2019)
The Mahoning Youngstown Community Action Partnership (MYCAP), 1325 Fifth Avenue Youngstown at the corner of Broadway and Fifth in Youngstown, will be holding an OPEN HOUSE on the scheduled dates and times for their Employment Skills and Training Program. They are:
Wednesday, September 4, 2019- 9:00 am and 1:00pm
Monday, September 9, 2019- 9:00am. and 1:00pm
Wednesday, September 11, 2019- 9:00am and 1:00pm
*All must register by September 12, 2019___________________
The information sessions give an outline of what is covered in the class, details of the program and what is expected from each participant. Candidates interested in the next free Training Class of 2019 scheduled to begin September 23. Those interested must attend only one of the informational sessions to be selected. Class space is limited.
The Employment Skills & Training is a free program that helps residents in Mahoning County learn the basic work related skills that can be used in any position they are seeking. The program is designed to assist individuals to overcome work-related barriers. This training is a win-win situation for the employee and employer.
This includes motivational training, interviewing techniques, computer literacy, financial literacy, how to write and format a resume, mock job interviews, placement assistance and other several useful job related topics and life skills.
*The six-week class runs through October 31, 2019 at MYCAP, 1325 Fifth Ave. Potential candidates must be a Mahoning County resident 18 years of age or older, graduated with a high school diploma or working towards completion of a G. E.D., and must bring in last 90 days of income. Veterans, long-term unemployed and individuals with legal problems are encouraged to attend. All chosen participants will receive a free portfolio, flash drives, interview clothing, job placement assistance and possible financial assistance to overcome employment related barriers such as loss of drivers license and lack of G.E.D. regardless of criminal or financial backgrounds.
REFRESHMENTS WILL BE PROVIDED…………
In addition, all participants must be income eligible at or below 125% of the federal poverty guidelines, which are listed below.

The Mahoning Youngstown Community Action Partnership will strive to alleviate and prevent the causes of poverty. They plan and implement quality services designed to educate and empower eligible residents of Mahoning County with a goal of moving toward self-sufficiency.

Our All-District Marching Band entertains the public at football games and community events, fosters school spirit, and provides a structured, positive atmosphere where our scholars can thrive! New members with any or no experience are welcome to join; we will teach you what you’ll need to know and provide instruments, uniforms and transportation. Band Camp will be held in the East Band Room at East High School, 474 Bennington Ave. Youngstown, OH 44505., from July 17th thru Aug. 18th (Mon. thru Fri.) from 10 AM to 1 PM.
