We were thrilled to host the Social Work Case Unveiling event at Youngstown State University, located on the third floor of Cushwa Hall. 🌟 It was an enlightening gathering where attendees had the opportunity to meet the passionate individuals behind our mission, alongside our esteemed agency partners. ❤️🐧

Recently, our physical therapy students had an opportunity to record blood pressure and heart rates for the Box Yoga event held by 12 Rounds. We had an amazing time with both teaching sessions. This fundraiser supports the Heart Health Association and the Women of Impact Campaign. Thank you to everyone who participated!! 🥊🐧

The state of Ohio introduced the Great Minds Fellowship program to address the increasing demand for mental health support. Youngstown State University received over $2 million to implement the fellowship within its social work and counseling programs. Recipients of the fellowship, who must be Ohio residents, can receive up to $10,000 in scholarships and are required to complete internships at Community Behavioral Health Centers and commit to working at a CBHC for at least a year post-graduation. This is a great opportunity for students to make a difference in their community and explore potential careers. 🐧🧠

A walk through Cushwa 🐧❤️

Yesterday's Food Systems class was all about executing the ultimate game plan for our 'Superbowl Highlights 2024' to-go pick up! From crafting the perfect menu to ensuring seamless production and service, we tackled every aspect. Cauliflower Wings kicked off the excitement, followed by the choice of 'Super' Bowl or Vegetarian 'Super' Bowl for the main event. Let's not forget the winning play of Football Zucchini Brownies for dessert. Touchdown on taste and ex*****on! 🏈🍽️

We recently hosted an information session for our dedicated pre-dental majors gearing up for the Dental Hygiene program application. We were thrilled to have 39 enthusiastic students in attendance eagerly anticipating the application opening on March 1st! ✨

Bill Johnson, the 10th President of Youngstown State University, delivered the opening address to 91 nursing students and their families during our White Coat Ceremony. College/Department Scholarships

The Bitonte College of Health and Human Services is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 academic year scholarship applications for both college and department. Students can apply using the on-line application by either clicking on the link:

The only college scholarship that is a paper application is the Patrick J. Pacalo scholarship that requires a 3-5 page essay. Please contact the BCHHS Dean's Office for further information on the Patrick J. Pacalo Scholarship of which students must be enrolled in a Diversity course. The deadline for students to apply for College/Department Scholarships has been extended to Monday, January 22 , 2024. The deadline for to apply for the YSU Foundation Scholarships is February 1 of each year and it must be completed every year.

Spreading knowledge with our stellar BCHHS Ambassadors! 🌟 Cassidy Unger, our President, and Haya Farhan, the Vice President, had a blast connecting with students. From sharing who the Ambassadors are to diving into BCHHS Trivia with a spin-the-wheel for prizes, it was all about celebrating BCHHS and exploring majors! 🎉📚

What a fantastic day hosting high school counselors at BCHHS! Nearly 100 counselors joined us for an engaging session featuring Admissions' insightful presentation, an in-depth look at our diverse programs, and fascinating tours of our state-of-the-art labs. Dr. Berardini stressed the importance of placement testing and shared insights into our advising model. From Dental Hygiene and Nursing SIMS to Crime Scene Condo and Exercise Science facilities – our labs left a lasting impression! 🏥🔬 Thanks to everyone who made this day a success!
