As part of our Wellness for Life Speaker Series, check out the Penguin Pop-up Wellness Clinic on Tuesday, September 22, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at the Girard Multi-Generational Center.

Join us for a brief talk by Dr. Amy Weaver on wellness and the importance of early detection of chronic conditions. Following the talk, attendees can receive free health screenings for Blood Pressure, Fall Risk, and Dementia. Healthy refreshments will be provided.

All are welcome to come learn, connect, and take charge of your health.

Today, the YSU Department of Criminal Justice and Public Safety hosted a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony in Cushwa Hall, inviting the YSU community to come together to honor and remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

The moving patriotic ceremony provided an opportunity to reflect on the courage, sacrifice and unity that followed that day. As we mark 25 years since 9/11, we continue to remember and honor those whose lives were forever changed.

YSU Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice Ryan Roberts will share his research on gangs, prisons and applied intelligence through Colombia’s Instituto de Ciencia Política and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung’s course on organized crime and hybrid threats.

His research explores how gang networks impact public safety, institutions and communities.
