Summer of Solar Program Shines Light on STEM | Business Journal Daily YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- More than 30 local students from the YMCA Central and Word In Action Workforce Development Program participated in an interactive STEM program focused on microelectronics.
June 13th, we had the privilege of partnering with BRITE Energy Innovators, Warren- Trumbull County Public Library to offer our first Summer of Solar workshop! The INCREDIBLE team of YSU graduate students and I were blown away by the maturity, knowledge and grit that the McGuffey K-8 Tectonics team brought to the table. The Tectonics is a HIGHLY ACCOMPLISHED F.I.R.S.T. Lego League team of students from Warren, Ohio who have worked with the best and brightest to create solutions to our everyday problems. Let's just say we learned from THEM!!!!! Our future is in good hands!
We have completed our 1st year of ADMETE after-school and Lunch and Learn programs at Boardman High School and Poland Seminary High Schools. We could NOT have reached our amazing students without the INCREDIBLE administrators, Math Teachers, Librarians, Technology Departments, Media Departments, YSU students and of course the STUDENTS! THANK YOU!
Please allow me to introduce to you Mrs. Kristen Grunden. She is one of the AMAZING experts on the ADMETE team at YSU. She is our resident expert in both solar energy and physics. Our team is honored to have a former K-12 teacher on the team!
