🎖️2026 Alumni Award Spotlight: Stan Anderson ’73 will be honored with the Young Harris College Distinguished Alumni Award for Lifetime Career Achievement during the Friday night Alumni Awards Dinner on June 5, 2026, as part of Alumni Weekend.

An accomplished artist, designer, educator, and mentor, Anderson has devoted more than five decades to creative excellence and service to Young Harris College. From his groundbreaking work with CNN, NBC, major film studios, and national media networks to his leadership as Professor of Art and Graphic Design Coordinator at YHC, Anderson has built a distinguished career rooted in creativity, mentorship, and innovation. A proud alumnus and longtime supporter of the SPAT Club, he continues to invest in students and the campus community through teaching, philanthropy, and service.

Inspired by his mentor and longtime YHC art professor Ezra Sellers, Anderson has spent his life “paying it forward” through the same encouragement and personal connection that shaped his own journey. Those who would like to celebrate Stan Anderson’s extraordinary career, artistic legacy, and lasting impact on Young Harris College are encouraged to register for the Alumni Awards Dinner and join the college community in honoring one of its most dedicated and accomplished alumni.

We’re thrilled to share that Jacob Wood '20, YHC alum and dedicated music teacher, has been named Lumpkin County Middle School’s Teacher of the Year.

Jacob continues to make us proud with his passion for teaching, his commitment to his students, and the way he uses music to inspire and shape young minds. Seeing our alumni shine in their communities is one of the greatest joys — and Jacob is a perfect example of the impact YHC graduates make every day.
