This past Monday and Tuesday, students in Mr. Nelson's FACS class participated in the Burger Throwdown! Students were tasked with creating a slider inspired by a randomly selected cuisine to be served to willing participants to sample and judge. The winning sliders of each class will have an opportunity to have their burger featured at Rowdy's in downtown Yorkville!

Thank you to R. Cooper Farms (our meat supplier), Rowdy's, and all of the judges who participated! And, let's give a hearty congrats to the pictured students whose slider recipes will be presented to Rowdy's for a chance to be featured in the coming months.

The first of this year's Burger Throwdown at Yorkville MIddle School is getting close! This time, along with Rowdy's, we're working with R. Cooper Farms on Ament Rd. in Yorkville to ensure our students are using quality, locally-sourced beef! Stay tuned, the first-semester Throwdown will be on November 17th and 18th!
