During the past 11 years, I have had the absolute honor of working with the most incredible team. My administrators are the most ethical, honorable, compassionate, intelligent, and diligent people I have ever met.
My Board of Directors, have hearts bigger than the ocean, and despite having families and jobs of their own, would drop anything to assist and support the school.
My Staff are the most hard-working, kind, trustworthy, dependable team players that treat everyone like family and are accepting of all.
My Parents are the most conscientious, intelligent, loving, and dedicated school family. We are blessed.
My Students are the most out of the box thinkers, They are innovators, creators, deep thinkers, big feelers, and beautifully unconventional humans. I have absolutely no doubt that some of these kids are going to run the world someday—and they’ll make it a more interesting, compassionate and authentic place when they do.
Private school enrollment and donor support have declined over the past several years, while the cost of operating a school has continued to rise. Our only consistent source of income was tuition, and many of our students received tuition assistance. Additionally, we had one consistent donor of 5000$ annually.
Most nonprofit schools cannot survive on tuition alone—they depend on strong, consistent donor support. Grace simply never had that financial backing. We survived for 11 years largely on tuition, determination, creativity, and a whole lot of heart.
We worked around the clock, explored every possible option, prayed, fundraised, and fought incredibly hard to find a way forward. I even reduced my salary to 0$ for this year as I did the first four years we were opened. Ultimately, the resources simply weren’t there to responsibly sustain the school.
Making the decision to close our doors was absolutely devastating, but it was the responsible decision—for our students, families, staff, and the future.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us through the years. This is not goodbye. This is just goodbye for now.
Love and light,
Tairi
