Daycare/Preschool services available at our two-story home in downtown Yorktown. We are beginning a daycare, starting next month when children are out of school. Accepting ages 3-9. Must be potty trained. Hours of operation will be 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
We will continue our Daycare (less preschool) when school is back in session in August for children who need daycare services before and/or after school. Little ones not yet in elementary school may still come for all-day services.
We are the Ertle family. My name is Sunshine and my husband's name is Christopher. We have four children, one graduating, one in high school, one in middle school, and a daughter at the age of four. We will stay within state guidelines, pertaining to the ratio of caregiver to children. This means we may be hiring on one to two more caregivers if necessary per quantity of children.
My husband and I will provide care, two meals per day, one snack, outdoor time (weather-permitting), and arts and crafts/game time daily for your child. (And the bulk will NOT be video games.)
We can also provide music time, as we dabble in piano, guitar, drums, and singing. We aspire to take monthly field trips when the ratio of caregiver to children allows us to. And your child can assist in cooking, obviously at an age-appropriate level
I, Sunshine, personally attended Ball State for teaching. I went for three years (on Dean's List, all but one semester) and passed my teaching exams, such as the all-known Praxis. I am eligible to substitute teach, but prefer to stay home with my children. My credentials, however, allow me to offer preschool lessons.
With preschool, you can assist in your child's curriculum, prioritizing what you would like them to concentrate on learning one hour per day.
Preschool is a little more expensive, but certainly worth it if your young child is gearing up for elementary school!
Or if you are simply wanting your child to recall everything that wipes their memories in the summer, while out of school!
Another opportunity for your child is recreation. We will often be taking the children outdoors as weather permits, helping your child to take advantage of the benefits of play outdoors. They can even help me with my gardening! We live on Buck Creek, so we can even offer fishing from time to time.
The older the child, the less the expense per week. Partial weeks are also available. There will be discounts for parents that wish for more than one of their children to attend our Daycare.
*Note that our family is going on vacation June 8-15.
Your child will need alternative services for that time period.
