We are thrilled to announce that Tabb High School’s KidWind Team, the THS Windbreakers, has achieved an extraordinary victory on the global stage!
The THS Windbreakers, with members Megan Way, Eddie Zhu, Neel Dharni, Honglei Su, Rhett Zhao, Sandeep Valasundar, and Heet Patel, have been crowned champions of the World KidWind Challenge. This international STEM competition brings together top student innovators from around the world to design, build, and test wind turbines.
The KidWind Challenge is widely recognized for engaging students in real-world engineering by challenging them to create efficient wind turbine designs, analyze energy output, and present their solutions to a panel of expert judges. Teams are evaluated on engineering design, performance in wind tunnel testing, data analysis, and their ability to clearly communicate their design process and results. The hands-on competition encourages students to explore renewable energy concepts while developing critical skills in collaboration, problem-solving, and innovation.
Their prestigious accomplishment is a testament to the team’s hard work, creativity, engineering expertise, and commitment to renewable energy innovation. Competing against talented teams from across the globe, the THS Windbreakers demonstrated exceptional problem-solving abilities, technical precision, and teamwork to earn the top honor. And it could not have been accomplished without their wonderful sponsor, Mrs. Stephanie Miller!
Congratulations to our outstanding student engineers for representing Tabb High School with excellence, determination, and pride. Your success inspires our entire community and highlights the incredible opportunities in STEM education and the importance of preparing the next generation of innovators in clean energy.
