The Walkabout Education Foundation (WEF) has been working tirelessly to reinvent Walkabout and they’ve been recognized for their efforts by some heavy hitters. XQ: The Super School Project, a competition funded by the Steve and Lorraine Jobs Foundation, will award $10MM to five different applicants and they have selected The Walkabout Consilient School (our vision of Walkabout 2.0) as one of the finalists. In two weeks they will announce the winners and we want to do everything we can to push it over the finish line.

YOU CAN HELP!!! Be part of the grassroots groundswell of support for Walkabout by posting on your wall or in a public forum how Walkabout helped you or someone close to you. Remember to post on your wall or a public page so it makes it out to the masses. Our WAA FB group is private so our posts there are only seen by group members. Include these tags so we get noticed: , ,

Reach out to your classmates, parents, your old high school teachers, guidance counselor or principal and let them know to do the same! Be sure to like the XQ FB page and follow them on Twitter.

What is Ben Wild doing next??? People ask me that a lot. Well, he just graduated from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and he has put together a summer program at Western Connecticut State University. If you know anyone that has junior or senior year bound high schoolers in the Northern Westchester, Southern Putnam or Western Fairfield County areas, have them check this out:
