Today, our pre-k classrooms celebrated International Dot Day! 🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵

Inspired by author Peter H. Reynolds' children's book "The Dot", Dot Day celebrates creativity, courage & collaboration!

The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”. What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of self-discovery and sharing, which has gone on to inspire countless children and adults around the globe.

Not every family's day ends when the traditional workday does. Our Twilight Care program is designed for families who need care later into the evening, with availability to support parents as they finish work or manage evening schedules, while providing children with a familiar, nurturing environment. Children enjoy age-appropriate activities, connect with friends, and wind down with caring educators in a setting they already know and trust.

As a new school year begins for many students, it's also a reminder that learning starts long before kindergarten. The first five years of life are filled with incredible growth, discovery, and development. High-quality early childhood education helps build the social, emotional, language, and cognitive skills that prepare children for school and for life. 🏕️ Adventure was just around the corner in our classrooms! Our dramatic play areas transformed into campgrounds where students pitched tents, packed supplies, gathered around a pretend campfire, and set off on outdoor adventures fueled by imagination. As they played together, our students practiced communication, cooperation, problem-solving, and storytelling, all while creating memories and having fun. Play is one of the most meaningful ways children learn, and our campers certainly made the most of their adventure!

The CPBJ 300 is the Central Penn Business Journal’s premier recognition program celebrating the most accomplished and influential business leaders throughout Central Pennsylvania.

Two decades of Army service shaped the leader now running one of the country’s oldest publicly traded water utilities.

Joseph “JT” Hand became the 22nd president and CEO of The York Water Company on March 1, 2020, after serving as the York, York County company’s chief operating officer for 12 years, directing its engineering, physical plant, and growth strategies.

Before joining York Water, Hand served 22 years on active duty in the U.S. Army, ending his service as deputy commander and deputy district engineer for the Baltimore District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

In October 2025, the National Association of Water Companies named Hand vice chair of its board of directors, effective January 2026.JT Hand is a servant leader who lends his time and expertise to many community organizations, including YDEL.
