🐾 We don’t usually double post in one day, but this one is special! 🖤

Today is National Custodian Day, and we couldn’t let it pass without recognizing the incredible people who work behind the scenes to keep YMS clean, safe, and ready for our Cougars each day!

Not everyone is pictured, but every member of our custodial team is MUCH appreciated! Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and all the things you do that often go unseen.

We appreciate you today and EVERY day! 🖤🤍🐾

🐾 Another great week at YMS! Our Cougars have worked hard, learned together, and had plenty of fun—and now they’re ready for a well-deserved break!

➗ Ms. Benfield’s students reviewed equations through a fun game.
🤝 Ms. Adams’ classes put teamwork into action during their Cooperative Teams Unit, while her 8th graders took to the stadium for ultimate frisbee!
🎉 Ms. Hughes’ 2nd period became the FIRST class to win her “We’re at PEACE!” challenge for their percentage of students passing!
📚 Thank you to Mr. Atherton for presenting to our 8th grade English classes about the Holocaust as they wrapped up their historical fiction unit.
🏟️ And a huge thank-you to everyone who helps make our athletic concessions a success, especially our sweet friend pictured below!

Another week of learning, teamwork, and community at YMS. Enjoy your break, Cougars! 🖤🐾

🎉 Lots to Celebrate at YMS! 🐾

We wrapped up Attendance Awareness Month with great success! Congratulations to Ms. Shaver’s homeroom for earning the highest average daily attendance at 96.6%, exceeding our 95% school goal! Students celebrated with donuts, oranges, and juice. (Don’t forget - we will celebrate those with perfect attendance after the break!)

We also recognized our FIRST Students of the Month for the year! 🌟 Students received a candy treat, a free scoop of ice cream courtesy of Black’s Peaches 🍦, and an optional yard sign to proudly display at home for the month.

📣 Reminder: Tomorrow is a half day, but an absence still counts as a full-day absence. Please make every effort to have your student at school.

We’re proud of our Cougars for showing up, working hard, and making every day count! 🖤🤍🐾

Learning in Full Bloom! 💐🌸

A group of YMS FFA members visited Five Blossoms Shoppe in downtown York to learn about the elements of floral design and create their own arrangements. Students gained hands-on experience and took their creations home!

Thank you, Five Blossoms, for partnering with us and helping our students learn beyond the classroom! 🖤🤍
