In response to the Ice Storm Warning in our area expected to bring freezing rain, ice accumulation and possible power outages, York School District One's schools, buildings and offices will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026, and the district will transition to an asynchronous eLearning day. An asynchronous eLearning Day means that students will not log on for live instruction from their teachers. Instead, students will complete assignments posted to Canvas (the districtโs online learning management system) or provided in paper packets for our youngest learners.
Teachers will provide students with eLearning assignments via Canvas and communicate with parents via ParentSquare. Students who do not have access to the internet or are unable to complete their assignments will have the opportunity to submit assignments at a later date that will be communicated upon return to school. Should parents have questions regarding student work assignments, please contact your childโs teacher. Teachers will make every effort to be available to support students throughout the day; however, we recognize that power and internet outages may impact connectivity for both staff and families. Flexibility will be provided as we navigate these weather-related conditions together. We will notify families and staff of any additional schedule changes using the districtโs automated communication system, the district website, and social media.
Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and continued support of York School District One. Ensuring the safety of our students, families and staff remains our number one priority.
